Weatherly Assembly is a congregation determined to become a community of believers made up of Spirit filled individuals committed to worshiping God with every component of their life; to loving, encouraging, and helping each other reach maturity in Christ, and to reaching those for God who pass within their areas of influence.
Pastor Jerry Sims and his wife Pat, came to Weatherly in August of 1992 and have served as pastor up until this time.
We believe at Weatherly church is more than an event or place. We believe the body of Christ is designed by God with purpose. That purpose can be summarized with three key concepts:
Connecting To God: We as individuals are called into relationship with our creator and God, Jesus Christ. In this area of connecting to God we believe it is our purpose as a congregation to provide an atmosphere conducive to individual and corporate worship. Worship for us at Weatherly is more than an event, it is a lifestyle lived out everyday.
Connecting To Each Other: We believe at Weatherly individuals are also called into relationship with each other. The Scriptures speak clearly that believers are to love one another. We at Weatherly believe love is active and not passive. Therefore, we teach and practice the expression of our love through acts of service and support
Connecting To The World Around Us: God loves the world, the people of this world. As Christ's ambassadors we are called to let the world know about Him and His concern for them. Without reaching out into a lost world we fail as God's children and as God's church. Therefore, it is our mission as the Body of Christ to evangelize individually and corporately. Our ultimate goal is to connect the city to Christ for His inheritance. To accomplish this we need to do four things. 1. Network with other congregations. 2. Equip one another for ministry. 3. Empower individuals to do ministry. 4. Develop new and effective ways to reach the unchurched.
